Singer Diahann Carroll starred in Julia, a late 1960's television series best known as being one of the first weekly series to depict an African American woman in the leading role. Widowed when her husband was killed in Vietnam, Julia worked as a nurse in a doctor's office and raised her young son. Barbie commemorates the character and the award-winning actress Carroll with this reproduction of the Barbie Famous Friends: Julia Doll, originally released in 1969!
