Vault is very excited to announce the new series MONEY SHOT, a story about scientists having sex with aliens for money.

MONEY SHOT’s creative five-some includes writer Tim Seeley (Grayson, Revival, and Hack/Slash), co-scripter & comedian Sarah Beattie, artist Rebekah Isaacs (Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel & Faith), colorist Kurt Michael Russell (Hack/Slash, Glitterbomb), and letterer Crank! (Rick and Morty, Curse Words).

In the near future, space travel is ludicrously expensive and largely ignored. Enter Christine Ocampos, inventor of the Star Shot teleportation device with a big idea: She'll travel to new worlds, engage —intimately—with local aliens, and film her exploits for a jaded earth populace trying to find something new on the internet. Now, Chris and her merry band of scientists turned pornstars explore the universe, each other, and the complexities of sex in MONEY SHOT! A story about scientists having sex with aliens for the glory of mankind—and money.

MONEY SHOT #1 will receive a Vault Vintage B Cover by Nathan Gooden and Tim Daniel that pays tribute to John Byrne & Joe Sinnott’s iconic cover to Fantastic Four #220 (Marvel Comics, 1980). The Vault Vintage cover line celebrates the artistic achievements of both modern and legendary comics artists.

"It's about porn but it ISN'T porn," said MONEY SHOT writer, Tim Seeley.

“You have no idea how many times I've said that about MONEY SHOT."

“Every time I pitched my FANTASTIC FOUR by way of SEX CRIMINALS comic book series over the past three years, no matter how great the idea sounded to the pitchee, no matter how much they loved the art of Rebekah Isaacs, or the idea of bringing on comedian Sarah Beattie, they'd inevitably say "Oh, but you can't sell porn comics. There's a stink on adult material. No publisher will want it."

“And, that definitely seemed true then. I sent MONEY SHOT to my good friends at a variety of comic companies, and was always given a polite "GREAT IDEA! BUT...this would make us nervous."

“Of course, that's the intent of MONEY SHOT. It’s a science fiction epic about a group of underfunded scientist using a porn website that broadcasts their alien sex conquests to fund their research into the depths of the universe. It's supposed to make you laugh, make you a little uncomfortable, make you confront the realities of the modern struggles the scientific community faces as they attempt to innovate and discover."

“But ultimately, that's not all MONEY SHOT is about either. Sure, it's ABOUT porn. And, it's about sex. It's about love. It's about the weird overlap between the two, and the occasional lack of overlap. It's about how physical intimacy often leads to emotional intimacy, and how often we wish that weren't true. And it's about coming together to do something for the good of mankind, even when you're dealing with all those complexities. It's about discovery...learning about yourself as you learn about what lies beyond the planet our species evolved on—via thousands of years of sex."

“When I pitched this idea to Adrian Wassel at Vault Comics he was the first editor who didn't blush or get nervous or ask me if I had any horror ideas instead. He said, "I've never seen that done." He saw the possibilities of a comic that was sexy and satirical, but also sincere and vulnerable. He saw market potential."

“And, so, now that's what we're asking of comic book retailers and fans. Look past your preconceptions."

“Join us. It's not porn. It's about porn."

“It's about us.”

MONEY SHOT #1 hits store shelves on October 23rd, 2019.
