CrossGen Founder Mark Alessi Dies at 65

Mark Alessi, the founder and publisher of CrossGen Comics, died late last week. He was 65. 

Writer Ron Marz, who worked with Alessi at CrossGen, shared the news on Twitter last week. 

At it's peak, CrossGen was notable for its top-tier creators like Marz, Mark Waid, Barbara Kesel, J.M. DeMatteis and others, as wells as popular titles like Mystic, Sigil, Scion, The First, Crux, Sojourn, Ruse, Negation, The Path and more. 

After six years of publishing, the company was sold to Disney in 2004. 

Alessi is survived by his daughter, Ashleigh; sister, Ann; and spouse, Jennifer.
