Thor: Ragnarok Hammers Theatres with $121M Opening Weekend

Verily! Thor: Ragnarok -- the third feature film starring Marvel Comics' God of Thunder -- topped the domestic box office in its opening weekend with $121 million contributing to a global haul of more than $306 million.

It was the fourth largest debut of 2017 behind behind Beauty and the Beast, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, and It. 

Thor: Ragnarok, starring Chris Hemsworth and Cate Blanchett, cost an estimated $180 million to make.
