Steve Ellis On Edge Expecting A High Moon Rising
Oct 18, 2017
A winner of the Harvey Award for Best Online Series, High Moon (AUG171902) was originally published by DC's Zuda Comics in 2007. The horror story is back from Papercutz's Super Genius imprint, and your faithful news team here at PREVIEWSworld tracked down artist Steve Ellis at New York Comic Con to get some insight about the new edition of the story, written by Ellis' partner David Gallaher.
"It's about a man who has to decide to live like a beast, or die like a man. It's finally back after a while," said Ellis, when we caught up with him in the lower depths of the Javits Center.
One look at the interiors of the book shows that Ellis has a lot of fun with the interiors. A B-movie type Heavy Metal blast of blood and energy hums on each page, and there's no doubt that the artist was jacked up to show demonic characterizations and carnage on each square inch of paper.
"It ran for three years on Zuda where it was a web comic," he continued. "This is kind of a big glossy remastered awesome edition. It's bigger, badder, and bolder."
To see how Super Genius' edition is better for High Moon (how can you pass up pages of new content?), watch the YouTube video above to hear about the project in Ellis' own words, and look for High Moon to arrive at your local comic shop November 1! And be sure to check out Ellis and Gallaher's other project from Super Genius, The Only Living Boy Volume 1: Patchwork Planet TP (MAY161708), now in stock and available to order!
