Happy Thanksgiving Day From PREVIEWSworld
Nov 23, 2017
It's upon us again. That time of the year when families get together to show that they're thankful for what they have, and that they're able to be in the same room together to celebrate. It's Thanksgiving! The holiday is as old as, well, comics! Actually, it's older than that, but given the comic covers that we've been accumulating over the years, it seems that many of the comics published with the Thanksgiving theme are as old as the grandparents sitting around the dinner table.
When you think of Thanksgiving, you probably think of pilgrims, turkey, etc. But what about superheroes? They are a big family, too, and they need to eat! Check out a few panels from comics past with superheroes gathered around a Thanksgiving feast. Click on the images below to get a closer look. Happy Thanksgiving from all of us at PREVIEWSworld!
This panel is from 1986's The Vision and the Scarlet Witch #6. Wanda and Vision host Thanksgiving at their home with a guest list that includes her father Magneto. In the issue Toad tries to ruin the festivities.
From 2004's JSA #54 two teams gather around the Thanksgiving day dinner table. The Justice League of America goes to the Justice Society of America's headquarters to give thanks...thanks that they don't get together more often!
The Uncanny X-Men #308 from 1994 is the setting for this Thanksgiving day feast. In the issue the X-Men rake leaves, play football and Scott and Jean announce they are getting married!
Our final panel comes from 1977's Green Lantern/Green Arrow #93. Green Lantern investigates a spacecraft which is abducting impoverished people from Earth. Hal's good deeds end up getting him invited to a nice Thanksgiving dinner!

We hope you all enjoy your Thanksgiving weekend with family and friends and some great comics!
