Disney Announces a Rocketeer Reboot

In an exclusive from The Hollywood Reporter, Walt Disney Studios has announced a reboot of the cult classic 1991 action adventure film The Rocketeer. The film was based on the comic by Dave Stevens and starred Billy Campbell, Jennifer Connelly, Timothy Dalton, and Alan Arkin. While it wasn't a success at the box office, a cult following has sprung up around the film.

The reboot will take place after the first film and star a young African-American female pilot who will take on the mantle of The Rocketeer, and will be a period piece based around the end of World War 2 and the start of the Cold War. Max Winkler and Matt Spicer are scripting the project which is under a current working title of The Rocketeers.
