ILLUSTRATION MAGAZINE #25
The new issue of Illustration
is a celebration of the fabulous pulp magazines of the 20s, 30s and 40s. The first story features an extensive look at the pulp and paperback illustrations of Rudolph Belarski. Dozens of reproductions from his original paintings and rarely seen, mint-condition proof sheets are included. Also featured in this issue is the work of Weird Tales
artist Hugh Rankin, known for his fantastic pen and ink illustrations. Rounding out the issue is an in-depth feature on Gloria Stoll, one of the few female artists to have worked in the pulp illustration field. This feature showcases dozens of mint-condition proof sheets, and beautiful original artwork photographed from the artist's personal collection. Also included are the usual book reviews, and a run down of the latest exhibitions and other events related to illustration history.
