In the following interview, writer Jay Sandlin tells us all about Bio Mechs.
Let’s get into technorganic world of Bio Mechs. What is the story?
Take it like Transformers meets Back to the Future. There’s a peaceful planet of these cybernetic mechs who are just minding their own business when these alien-insect assholes show up and wreck everything. The fight is lost, so the only way to save the Bio-Mechs is in the past. Will it work? That remains to be seen.
Why aren’t these action figures yet? They look very cool.
Yeah, they are pretty cool. The creative team did an amazing job designing all the characters!
This is a war story, but who’s at the frontlines? Who are the characters we’re following?
When the story begins, a lot of the war is already lost so we’re following the resistance. What’s left of the resistance are two twins named Flashback and Drifter. They travel with an AI called Prodigy to complete missions in the timeline to change the outcome of the lost war.
What about this insectoid army? Can we expect some technorganic grossness?
Like I said, they’re a bunch of assholes. There are a lot of them, and they multiply faster than the Orkin man can act. You can definitely expect some hot techno-organic art from the awesome creative team!
What made you team up with artist Cleber Souza Lima?
The awesome leadership at Blackbox Comics put us together and it was a joy to work with them!
Tell us about the rest of the collaborators in the book. Who is on the art team?
A wonderful team of collaborators consisting of ART: Cleber Souza Lima, COLORS: Fabio Da Silva Bandres, and LETTERING: Cynna Ael. Everyone in the band plays their instruments and creates beautiful music!
In terms of audience, who is Bio Mechs for?
I would say it’s an All Ages story, for anyone who loves sci-fi, fantasy, time travel, and some kick-ass artwork!
