Firstly, what is your name and where do you hail from?

My name is Cleber. I am from Brazil.

How did you get into art? What sparked your initial interest?

I have been drawing since I was five years old. My Mother always encouraged me and gave me drawing materials. Spawn comic books sparked my interest in the ’90s, when I was 11 years old. I remember seeing those incredible books with McFarlane and Capullo art!

What can you tell us about your book? What is it about?

I always loved Transformers and the Mega Man universe, I got really excited when I realize that I could create a design in this kind of universe with robots, circuits and hi-technologies.

What is Bio Mechs?

For me, Bio Mechs is an awesome story written by the great Jay Sandlin. If you like Transformers, Mega Man, and science fiction, you really need to dive into this comic book.

These designs of the Bio Mechs are really impressive. Can you get into your character design process a bit?

My process is very simple, I take my pencil 2B and follow along with the story and what the story creator would like. I started to draw the characters and kept showing to Jay and Dimitrios who both helped me a lot in this process.

How do you know when the character has the right look?

Basically, when I feel it is very close to what I was imagining.

So, this project is by you AND writer Jay Sandlin. How did you get involved in Bio Mechs?

From the moment that Dimitrios presented this opportunity to me, I have been very excited and could not stop drawing.

What tools do you use to draw?

Comic paper Bristol from a great Brazilian brand, pencil, technical pencil 0,5, 0,7, 0,9 and ink pens.

In terms of audience, who is your book for?

I honestly would say this story is for all ages. If you have ever experienced different kinds of stories about science fiction and robots you should try Bio Mechs. Thank you all for this opportunity.
