Critics Praise the ‘Star Runner Chronicles: Dark Star’ Graphic Novel

Atlantis Studios announced this month the publication of the collected edition of Star Runner Chronicles: Dark Star, shipping on May 25. This is the official sequel to the first book in the series, Fallen Star. This new 96-page full color trade paperback is available to pre-order in March Previews.
In this new adventure, series heroine Aurora Palmer has learned the amazing truth behind her alien origins and is trying to live a normal life with her friends at Madison High. Unfortunately, nothing goes according to plan when a new girl moves in, stealing Scott’s attention, and frustrating her plans for the future. What’s more, Aurora senses a dark force hunting her, threatening her peaceful new life with imminent danger.
Early reviews of the graphic novel have given it high marks for writing and artwork, and for expanding its cast of diverse characters, successfully building on a world first introduced in Falling Star. Critics have praised the second volume for creating an exciting and layered action narrative, appropriate for all audiences.
Jake Palermo of Gutternaut.net praised the series for “daring to challenge teenage angst” with its upbeat tone, and for “building up an intriguing interstellar saga as characters come of age.”
Tyler Glass, Shattered Glass Comic Reviews called it “…a great balance of action, layered character motivation, and high school drama.”
Brett Schenker of Graphic Policy called the series “…a nice mix of teenage drama and action, but most importantly a fleshed-out world that has us wanting to find out more.”
Angela at Sci-FiChick.com summed up the story this way: “Teen angst, mystery, and a lot of suspense – this sequel is a whole lot of fun!”
The adventures for Aurora are just beginning. Atlantis Studios has confirmed a third volume Rising Star is in production for this fall, and a feature film is in development!
