‘Dark Star’ Expands the Star Runner Universe
Feb 10, 2022
Following the success of the critically-acclaimed Star Runner Chronicles: Fallen Star, Atlantis Studios has expanded its world with a new three-issue sequel series Dark Star, available to pre-order in February Previews.
The original series Fallen Star introduced Aurora Palmer, a rebellious teen with a mysterious past and unpredictable powers beyond her control. When a sudden flare-up exposed her long-hidden powers, she was forced to battle the police, armed soldiers, and secretive government scientists to uncover the truth.
Now, Aurora has found new friends and acceptance. She is working with Vanguard’s top scientists to study uncovered alien technology and learn the truth about the world she came from, with each discovery bringing her closer to her ultimate destiny.
Meanwhile, her feelings towards the chief scientist’s son Scott Davis have become more intense, but her uncertainty about the future gets in the way of their relationship. Aurora is afraid to tell him the truth, and unwittingly pushes him way.
To make matters worse, there’s a new girl on campus, Monica Dark, daughter of a visiting scientist, who is jealous of Scott’s attention towards Aurora. Tall, athletic, and beautiful, she’s everything Aurora is not. Why is Scott spending time with her?
Thankfully, Aurora can confide in her best friend Kristine Sullivan, a trend-setting cheerleader who knows her secret. Kristine’s willingness to listen helps Aurora blow off some steam and help in her investigation of mysterious “new girl” Monica.
Behind all this drama, something dark is lurking in the shadows, hunting Aurora from a strange world of dark energy she barely understands. When she is least prepared to fight, an unseen enemy attacks and Aurora suddenly realizes she’ll need all her abilities to defend her home and protect the ones she loves!
Each issue of the Dark Star series contains 32 pages of colorful art, including exclusive content for the print edition. It is a fast-paced, fun, and thought-provoking adventure for readers 12+ with colorful, dynamic artwork by Leo Cordeiro, Carlos Eduardo, Mohan Sivakami, Wilson Ramos, with covers by Nahuel Grego.
