Dark Horse's Spy Island #1 Sells Out Ahead of Publication
Mar 11, 2020
Spy Island #1, the Bermuda Triangle spy-mystery miniseries from the Eisner-nominated team Chelsea Cain, Lia Miternique, Elise McCall, Rachelle Rosenberg and Joe Caramagna sells out ahead of its on-sale date. Dark Horse Comics has announced a second printing, featuring an all-new cover by co-creator Lia Miternique.
The highly anticipated dark-humored espionage-adventure is told from the point of view of wry super spy Nora Freud, and takes place on a tropical island where surfers are more likely to be attacked by mermaids than by sharks, and cheap super villains take advantage of the deep discounts during the off-season.
Spy Island is the third comic book series by NYT bestselling novelist Chelsea Cain, Her previous two comics (Man-Eaters/Image, Mockingbird/Marvel) received multiple Eisner nominations, including last year's Best New Comic Book Series.
Co-creators Cain and Miternique are co-founders of The Ministry of Trouble.
“I’m endlessly amazed by the work of our amazing creative team, and everyone at Dark Horse. In the end, we make the stories we want to read. And if Chelsea and I are able to crack each other up, we know we’re on the right track. And we crack each other up a lot.” —Lia Miternique
“Every word of this comic book is true. We want to thank the Bermuda Triangle Chamber of Commerce for access to historical archives.” —Chelsea Cain
