According to Bloody Disgusting, fan-favorite horror director Alexandre Aja will be directing and executive producing an adaptation of Junji Ito's classic horror manga, Tomie, as a series for the upcoming streaming platform, Quibi.

This marks the first Hollywood adaptation of Tomie, however the manga, first released in 1987, was also adapted in a series of eight live action films that released in Japan between 1999 to 2011.

For those unfamiliar, with Quibi, it's described as a "mobile first media technology" spearheaded by a collective of Hollywood and Silicon Valley figureheads. The platform aims to deliver content to viewers in a fresh and exciting way, perfect for on-the-go viewing.

No release date has been given so it could be some time until we see Alexandre Aja's Tomie, but stay tuned as more information is released in the future.
