The Masters Of The Universe will reportedly soon be headed back to the big screen, Variety has reported.

Sony Pictures and Mattel Films have tapped the screenwriting duo of Art Marcum and Matt Holloway to pen the script for a reboot. The team's work includes screenplays for Men In Black: International, Transformers: The Last Night, and Iron Man.

Todd Black, Jason Blumenthal, Steve Tisch and DeVon Franklin will serve as the movie's producers.

The original Masters Of The Universe film premiered in 1987 and starred Dolph Lundgren and Frank Langella as He-Man and Skeletor.

This has been Mattel Films' second announced project, as it was recently announced that Margot Robbie will produce and star in a live-action film based on Barbie
