PREVIEWS Exclusive Interview: Tom Peyer And Stuart Moore Bring Fun Back To Superheroes
Oct 05, 2018
Ahoy-hoy!
Okay, okay. It might be too late for Talk Like A Pirate Day, but it's never too late for "funny", "entertaining", and "smart" comic stories. And that's exactly what you're going to get from Ahoy Comics! This brand-new publishing house just dropped The Wrong Earth (JUL181526), a series about a fun and campy superhero duo (think: Batman '66) that encounters a grim-dark elseworld version of themselves (Think: Batman V. Superman).
"We want to do comics that are --that look as good as anything the big two publishes," Ahoy Editor-in-Chief Tom Peyer explains. "But we want them to be things they won't publish. We want to concentrate on being funny and being entertaining-- having a wide range of things to draw from." "And smart. That's definitely a part of it," Writer-Editor Stuart Moore added.
Take a look at the interview with Tom Peyer and Stuart Moore above. And then check out a preview of The Wrong Earth below!
About The Wrong Earth:
AHOY Comics launches with a biting superhero satire! On one world, Dragonflyman and his sidekick Stinger enjoy a life of adventure. On another Earth, the Dragonfly hunts criminal parasites like a lethal exterminator. But what happens when these two heroes change places? By Tom Peyer (Captain Kid, Hourman) and Jamal Igle (Black, Supergirl)! And, a "Golden Age" Stinger solo story, by Paul Constant and Frank Cammuso! Plus: An all-new text story by comics legend Grant Morrison: "'Hud' Hornet's Holiday In Hell," illustrated by Rob Steen! All this plus a cartoon by Shannon Wheeler!
