Bond 25 Taps Cary Joji Fukunaga as Director

Six months before filming is set to begin for the 25th installment in the James Bond franchise, the film has a director.
Cary Joji Fukunaga has been tapped as the director, according to a statement from the film's official Twitter account. He will be the first American to direct a James Bond film.
"We are delighted to be working with Cary," Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli, the film's producers, said in a statement. "His versatility and innovation make him an excellent choice for our next James Bond adventure."
Fukunaga won an Emmy in 2014 for his direction of the first season of True Detective.
Bond 25 arrives in theaters February 14, 2020.
