MCMLXXV Interview: Joe Casey And The Power of Myth

First up, let's just gets this out of the way: MCMLXXV is "1975" in Roman numerals, and it is no coincidence that that happens to be the year that Joe Casey and Ian MacEwan's latest comic, MCMLXXV, happens to take place in.

The book is about Pamela Evans, a cab driver by day and monster hunter by night. MCMLXXV promises to drop readers in on Pamela's greatest year and greatest adventure.

"I look at Pamela Evans more in the model of like Paul Bunyan and Babe The Blue Ox -- a real tall tale," explains Casey. "That The mythology part of it and the folktale part of it, hopefully -- I wouldn't say its a simple story but its very direct --- and, hopefully, something that will be timeless."

In the above interview, the writer unravels the mysteries of Pamela Evans and takes on a ride through mythic, haunted New York. We also discuss his other projects like New Lieutenants of Metal and the Ben 10 revival.
