Ruby Rose Cast As The CW’s Batwoman

Multiple outlets have reported that Ruby Rose (The Meg, Orange is the New Black) has signed to play Batwoman in this year’s CW Arrowverse crossover between Arrow, Supergirl and The Flash.

In addition to the crossover, a stand-alone Batwoman series is in possible development under executive producer Greg Berlanti.

Per The Hollywood Reporter: “Rose's casting comes after the network made it a priority to cast an openly gay actress to take on the role. …  With the casting, The CW's superhero stable now includes an out lesbian superhero played by a lesbian actress as well as a trans actress playing a trans superhero, with activist Nicole Maines joining Supergirl as a series regular next season.”
