"The first family is returning to Marvel on a monthly basis," announced an enthusiastic C.B. Cebulski, Editor-in-Chief of Marvel Comics. In the above video reveal released on Marvel's social media, Cebulski and VP & Creative Executive Ryan Penagos officially revealed to the world that the Fantastic Four will be returning as an ongoing series. Writer Dan Slott (Amazing Spider-Man, Silver Surfer) and artist Sara Pichelli (Ultimate Spider-Man) on creative duties. "We've been waiting for the right creators to come available for this book," Cebulski added. "It's been in the works a long time, we've been waiting for them to free up."
From Marvel:
Dan Slott and Sara Pichelli rekindle the flame this August!
Four heroes. One team. They’re back.
Reed, Sue, Ben, Johnny: welcome home.
After a spacefaring foray into the unknown, Marvel’s First Family returns this August with FANTASTIC FOUR #1.
Written by Dan Slott with art by Sara Pichelli, Mr. Fantastic, the Invisible Woman, the Thing, and the Human Torch reunite this summer.
The Fantastic Four have been absent from the Marvel line-up since 2015, with two of its members (The Thing and Human Torch) making appearances in other titles while Mr. Fantastic and The Invisible Woman -- the patriarch and matriarch of the "family" -- have been M.I.A. The disappearance of the husband and wife couple has long been a subplot within the Marvel Universe, but it sounds like fans will soon get answers to where the other half of the Fantastic Four have been.
