The Flash Speeds Into Square Enix's Variant Play Arts Kai Line
Dec 06, 2017
Your favorite DC Comics heroes are redesigned by the artists of Square Enix for the new Justice League Variant Play Arts Kai Series! These figures sport new anime-inspired costumes and designs that capture the essence of the familiar characters while giving them a unique style. Each figure includes variant parts and character-appropriate accessories, plus a display stand and window box packaging. Here we have none other than The Flash (DEC172567, $149.99) himself, Barry Allen!
This uniquely designed action figure captures the essence of DC's Justice League movie costume while providing it's own anime-inspired theme. Right down to the finger tips, this figure is incredibly detailed. First, the figure is able to effortlessly execute a wide range of motions. The Flash can take on any pose to prepare him for action.
Second, the over-all amount of details really give this Flash action figure it's charge. From the clear division of glossy and matte paints, to the texture displayed throughout the costume, you'd think Barry Allen designed it himself!
Ready to run, you can see the Flash take on this classic pose. The ability to morf this character into a running stance using the included display stand will no doubt put you in a sprinting mood. Textures in the costume truly shine through the placement and creation of the knee pads, shin guard, and boots.
This strong stance shows The Flash is ready to stand his ground. When not running, this straight shot of the figure heavily features the bold maroon color of the suit with yellow-gold accents. The detail in the face as well shows an uncanny resemblance to the character in the Justice League motion picture as well. The Flashes "bolt" symbol is clearly defined on his chest plate.
The backside view of this Flash action figure also details the immense effort put into the design. You can see the outlines of the different muscle groups as well as the lining and shells of armor. The back of the helmet also offers an incredible look at how the Flash defends attacks from behind. Also visible are the variety of joints used to pose this hero in many different ways.
This pose is where the real motion comes in. The Flash has clearly taken off at lighting speed. The fine details of nicks and scrapes can be seen throughout the armor. What super hero doesn't take a few hits now then? You can also feel the determination radiating off of Barry's face; he is clearly competing for the "World's Fastest" title here.
Here, The Flash has stopped on a dime. The included display stand helps The Flash quickly halt to fight more crime. The easily movable joints in the ankles, wrists, knees, elbows, shoulders, hips, and neck are all working to keep Barry standing. The interchangeable hands help The Flash gear up to really pack a punch!
Here, we see The Flash in a more relaxed yet still focused pose. He may not be sprinting into action, but he's ready to fire up any second. You can see his hands have been changed to fists and he's standing on guard. You also get a clear look at the black lining placed consistently over the costume for a true representation of the Play Arts Kai series.
