Dawn McTeigue Dishes Out Details On Divinica
Nov 15, 2017
Supporting the independent comic scene is what makes PREVIEWSworld a bulldozer. Sure, we give you all the goods on what goes on with the Premier Publishers, but we also go the extra mile to make sure that independent publishers have just as much fun in the swimming pool.
One of those independent publishers is Rothic, and you'll be happy to know that issue #3 of their ongoing title Divinica is now available in comic shops, featuring the fantastic fantasy artwork from Dawn McTeigue.
A longtime hand at the indie comic scene, Dawn McTeigue's illustrations have captivated fans for years, and have constantly made the traffic around her table at comic cons heavy, and well worth the wait. Dawn is one of those artists that makes time to talk to everyone, and she personalizes everything...which is why we took advantage of that when we got her to swing by the PREVIEWSworld booth at this year's New York Comic Con to talk about Divinica #3.
Full disclosure: it wasn't easy to get Dawn to the booth! Everything she had on her table by Thursday for the show's kick-off was gone by the end of the day. She actually had to Federal Express materials to New York in order to have merchandise available for purchase and signings by the next day!
"Lots of business," she laughed when we spoke to her at the booth. "Lots of people coming by, a lot of commissions, a lot of signing...it's awesome."
One look at the pages of Divinica lets you understand why Dawn is so busy at the cons. Throughout the interview she flipped through pages of Divinica, which she proudly noted that she drew and colored by hand. The book, written by J.P. Roth, is exquisite, and chronicles the life and first romances of the Egyptian Goddess Isis.
Fans of fantasy and mindblowing artwork are strongly encouraged to pick up this book, so watch the above YouTube interview with Dawn McTeigue to learn more about the title, and be sure to ask for Divinica #3 (JUN171894) at your local comic shop!
