Kyle Candid About His Huggable Hero Cats

Cats have nine lives they say, but if we’re talking about Kyle Puttkammer’s cats they have twenty lives, and more to come. We can make that claim because Hero Cats #20 (OCT171038) is listed in the October PREVIEWS catalog. For those of you who may have first missed the bell at meal time, the original six issues are available again in the Hero Cats Volume 1 HC (OCT171039), which is unsurprisingly a Featured Item in the October catalog. Kyle is cranking out comic story after another for his feline friends, and he’s now venturing into merchandise that transcend his four-color adventures.

Merchandise, of course, was only a matter of time in coming as Kyle deals with product every day, both ordering it, receiving it, and sliding it across the counter because Kyle himself is a comic book retailer.

“Twenty six years of retailing comic books,” Kyle offers. “I love this stuff. I love being at the comic book conventions. I love the community and the family that’s here.”

Family is a big part of what Kyle likes to keep in mind when he puts out Hero Cats for Action Lab Entertainment. He accentuates the importance of family out of the gate as his main character brings that foundation to the origin story for Hero Cats.

“Led by Ace, they’re raised by a military family,” he explains. “Cassiopeia, she’s the most powerful Hero Cat of all. She can read. Bell…can talk to ghosts...and read your mind.”
