Bring On The Bad Guys: Joker, Predator, & Venom

Egads! Another molotov cocktail that's served as a kids drink. Say it isn't so! Say we don't have to suffer the bad guys again! Yes, sad for all of those within hearing range... you will submit!  Your lethal injection of mean is back with this month’s rendition of “Bring on the Bad Guys,” and once again we show that we don’t discriminate because of race, sex, color, or creed. If you’re rotten, you qualify. And there are many ways to qualify. It might be that you enjoy kicking cats. It might be that you eat people. Or...maybe it’s because you’re one of Satan’s soldiers. In any event, we flip through the PREVIEWS catalog each month to see who needs to be called out as a deviant, and then we explain why these people … or things … or whatever they are … shouldn’t be helped if you see them bleeding in the middle of the street.

Let us begin.

Venomverse #1

Noise-a-go-go is about to start for all you spider-fiends that secretly want to squash the blue-and-red arachnid on the carpet. Writer Cullen Bunn teams up with artist Iban Coello to give us the long-awaited Venomverse #1 (JUL171048) from Marvel Comics, and this one is going to be a monster. The cover alone shows you that anyone dumb enough to stand in front of this freight train is going to get caught up in the wheels, and dragged screaming down the tracks for at least a mile before the blood stains are noticed. This series lays out a scenario in which Venom finds himself transported to a far-off world where a deadly new species called the Poisons are hunting Venoms! So what's Eddie Brock's idea to solve his problem? Venomize heroes to turn the odds in his favor! Look for Venomverse #1 in the Premier Comics section of the July PREVIEWS!

The Dark Knight: The Joker S.H.Figuarts Action Figure

Every once in a blue moon an actor comes along and nails a performance that is worthy of a character's image for the rest of eternity. There are not many names that just roll off people's tongues freely when comic book actors are the subject of game trivia night, but those that would come up would of course include Lynda Carter for Wonder Woman, Christopher Reeve for Superman, Michael Keaton for Batman...and so long as we're poking around in the DC Universe, we've got to point out that the latest addition to that DC Universe Hall of Fame includes the guy that gave a once-in-a-lifetime performance that won him a posthumous Oscar for Best Supporting Actor in 2009. His name was Heath Ledger, and he's immortalized here as The Dark Knight: The Joker S.H.Figuarts Action Figure (MAR178564) that has three interchangeable faces, plus 5 extra hands, a knife, a machine gun, a rocket launcher and a card to hold. Predator: City Hunter 1/18-Scale Figure

When you're king of the jungle because you've been able to kill everything in it, you get bored easily, and the next conquest pretty much has to extend past the boundaries of the rain forest. So what's a Predator to do? Well, the natural answer to that question was one that presented itself in the action-packed sequel to the original Predator movie. In the follow-up film, titled Predator 2, our favorite big ugly hunter arrives on the streets of the civilized world's biggest jungle: Los Angeles. Big names were attached to this movie, like Danny Glover, Gary Busey, and Bill Paxton. But it was the savage slice-and-dice action from the dude in dreadlocks that stole the show, and with the Predator: City Hunter 1/18-Scale Figure (APR178022) in your collection, you've got a 4 1/2" tall PREVIEWS Exclusive collectible that features full articulation, and stands with staff acessories and a stand for easy posing and display.
