Sonic the Hedgehog is going super in the follow-up to the sold-out smash one-shot Sonic Mega Drive as Sonic Mega Drive Overdrive (JAN171337) wraps up this 16-bit saga from January. Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, and Amy Rose are in a race against time to stop Dr. Eggman from launching his newly super-charged device by collecting the only thing that will stop it – the Chaos Emeralds. The perfect melding of classic Genesis era Sonic and the modern Sonic that young fans know and love, Sonic Mega Drive Overdrive is a must-read comic for fans of the Blue Blur.
BOOM! Studios is debuting new series Brave Chef Brianna #1 (JAN171399), which is perfect for fans of Studio Ghibli films, Steven Universe, and Space Battle Lunchtime. All Brianna wants in life is to start her own restaurant and succeed her father as a celebrity restaurant magnate. When her father’s health starts to fail, he gives Brianna the chance to prove herself – by challenging her and her 15 brothers to create the best restaurant in the city! However, Brianna may lose her shot before she even gets a chance when the only place left in town to set up shop is in Monster City. Sergio Aragones’ birdbrained barbarian is back in an all new hardcover from Dark Horse Comics. Mark Evanier joins Aragones on Groo Friends and Foes HC (JAN170141), collecting all twelve issues of the Friends and Foes series. Groo and his loyal companion Rufferto are on a quest to reunite Kayli with her long-lost father, but nothing is ever so straightforward and simple for our bumbling hero. As Groo crosses paths with fan-favorite characters Dakarba, Chakall, and even the melodic Minstrel, will he be able to discern friend from foe? Knowing Groo, probably not.
