Exclusive: The 2010s' Top 100 Best-Selling Comics

Set after the events of Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope, Jason Aaron and John Cassaday's Star Wars #1, published in January 2015, relaunched Star Wars comics at Marvel Comics and scored the creators the best-selling comic book of the 2010s.

In total, Marvel Comics had five of the top ten best-selling comic books of the 2010s and 67 of the top 100. 2014's Amazing Spider-Man #1 from Dan Slott and Humberto Ramos ranked #3 for the decade, followed by Jonathan Hickman and Esad Ribic's Secret Wars #1 at #4, Slott and Stuart Immonen's Amazing Spider-Man #800 at #9, and Aaron and Mike Deodato's Star Wars: Vader Down#1 at #10.

DC Comics had three titles in the decade's top ten and 25 of the top 100. Detective Comics #1000, celebrating Batman's 80th-anniversary in 2019, was the publisher's top book at #2 for the decade. 2018's Action Comics #1000, celebrating Superman's 80th-anniversary, ranked #5 for the decade, and Frank Miller, Brian Azzarello, Andy Kubert, and Klaus Janson's Dark Knight III: The Master Race #1 from 2015 ranked #8.

BOOM! Studios' Bravest Warriors: Tales of Holo John #1, published in 2015, ranked #6 for the decade.

IDW Publishing's Orphan Black #1, published in 2015 and based on the popular BBC America television series, ranked #7 for the decade.

Image Comics had five titles in the top 100, led by 2012's The Walking Dead #100 by Robert Kirkman, Charlie Adlard, and Cliff Rathburn at #16.

Unit and dollar market shares are calculated based upon orders for comic books, graphic novels, and magazines invoiced and shipped to Diamond customers during any given month, which comprises pre-orders, advance reorders, and reorders, minus any copies that are received back from a title marked as returnable. Please note that comics marked with an asterisk (*) have had their reported quantities reduced due to retailer returnability, and thus may rank lower on the charts than their actual sales would reflect.
