Archie Introduces New Orignal Graphic Novel Line for 2020

Exclusively reported by THR, Archie Blue Ribbon will be a new line of original graphic novels for young adults starting with Riverdale and Betty & Veronica OGNs releasing sometime in 2020.

This new line is said "'to present the best story in the best format to reach the most readers'" according to Archie Comics co-president Alex Segura as quoted in the Hollywood Reporter article. "'Launching a YA-centric line of original graphic novels with Blue Ribbon ... is a natural next step to give fans compelling, unique, and meaningful stories involving our iconic characters.'”

Betty & Veronica: The Bond of Friendship OGN from Jamie L. Rotante, Brittney Williams, Matt Herms and Jack Morelli will focus on the titular characters imagining their lives after high school "during Riverdale High’s latest career day."

Riverdale: The Ties That Bind is an OGN from Micol Ostow, Thomas Pitilli, John Workman and Andre Szymanowicz that will be an original story based in world of the popular Riverdale TV show. Writer Micol Ostow was tight lipped on the plot of the OGN but said their "'goal is to ensure that each of our core four [characters] gets their moment to shine,'" and "'to take the opportunity to explore settings and scenarios that are less feasible on the television show.'"

No specific details on the release of these titles were mentioned but you can look forward to them in 2020.
