Comic-Con International has announced the 2022 nominations for the Will Eisner Comic Industry Awards. Nominees were chosen for 32 categories, with 65 publishers represented by 150 titles in print and online. The Eisner Awards will be presented at Comic-Con on July 22, 2022.
DC leads nominations with 15 (plus 7 shared), followed by Image with 14 (plus 4 shared). They are followed by Fantagraphics and IDW, who both got 11 nominations, then VIZ Media at 8, and Marvel with 7 (5 shared). From the top two nominated publishers, DC’s Nightwing has the most nominations for a book at 5, Wonder Woman Historia: The Amazons has 4, and Image’s Destroy All Monsters has 3 nominations.
For individual creators, James Tynion IV leads with 5 nominations. Creators who nabbed 3 nominations include Filipe Andrade, Juan Cavia, Daniel Warren Johnson, Filipe Melo, Bruno Redondo, and Barry Windsor-Smith. After that, 16 more creators were given 2 nominations.
