Comic-Con International has announced the panel of judges for the 2022 Will Eisner Comic Industry Awards. This year’s judges will be Barbara Randall Kesel, Kim Munson, Rik Offenberger, Jameson Rohrer, Aaron Trites, and Jessica Tseang.

Kesel began her comics career in the mid-1980s at DC as a freelance writer and editor. She worked at Dark Horse as an editor in the ‘90s, then helped start CrossGen Comics in 2000. From there she did more freelancing and is now working for a tech startup that will uses comics to introduce computer technology.

Munson is an art historian, author, artist, and curator. She is the editor of the anthology Comic Art in Museums, and the curator of the touring exhibition Women in Comics.

Offenberger has worked in comics as a retailer, distributor, reporter, public relations coordinator, writer, and publisher. He owns and operates the email-based Super Hero News service, he has been published in The Comics Buyers Guide, Comic Retailer, Comic Book Resources, and First Comics News, among others. He recently wrote chapters for Gemstone Publishing’s The Overstreet Comic Book Price Guide to Lost Universes.

Rohrer is a librarian for Sacramento Public Library and has been working in libraries for 17 years. In 2020 and 2021, he served on the American Library Association’s inaugural Best Graphic Novels for Adults Reading Committee. He is also a board member for the California Library Association’s Graphic Novels Interest Group.

Trites has over 15 years of comic retail experience. He is currently the owner of Now Or Never Comics in San Diego, and before that the Comicazi in Boston. In 2017, he was the recipient of the Will Eisner Spirit of Comics Retailer Award.

Tseang is an international comics historian and pop culture public speaker. She has been on Robert Kirkman’s AMC series Secret History of Comics and Nerdist’s documentary The Impact of Black Panther. She has been a moderator and panelist on over 500 panels at comic and pop culture conventions.

The judges will choose the nominees for the Eisner Awards in around 30 categories. Comics industry pros will then vote on the nominees and results will be announced at San Diego Comic-Con in July.
