ComicConnect’s Event Auction #38 begins February 18, 2019 at 12 PM ET. Ahead of the sale, the New York-based auction house is presenting a live preview of the lots on offer. 

“2018 was our best year ever and the comic market shows no signs of cooling off. The complete Centaur collection headlines the upcoming auction,” said Vincent Zurzolo, COO of Metropolis. “Every single incredibly rare and highly sought-after comic from the publisher will be in this auction. This collection was an incredible challenge to undertake and seemingly impossible to complete. This is the first time the entire set has ever been brought to market.”

Other Golden Age highlights include Captain America #1 7.0, Superman #1 6.0 (R), two copies of Batman #1, More Fun #73 3.0, Action #7 2.5 and #23 5.0, Wonder Woman #1 6.0, Adventure #40 5.5, Pep #22 5.0, and Detective #33 3.0, #35 4.0, #38 6.0, and #40 3.0.

Silver Age keys include Hulk #1 9.8 (R), Showcase #4 7.5, Daredevil #1 9.4, Amazing Fantasy #15 6.0 (R), Spider-Man #1 6.0, Fantastic Four #1 8.0, Journey into Mystery #83 9.2 (R), and X-Men #1 6.5.

Original art goodies include the classic Mike Grell cover to Green Lantern #110, Barry Windsor-Smith Conan #1 art, and Jack Kirby’s Thor in Journey into Mystery #84 and Captain America in Marvel Treasury Special #1. They are offering the Russ Manning art on Tarzan, a Bernie Wrightson painted preliminary, and a Dave Cockrum Magneto splash from X-Men #150. As well as complete color guides to X-Men #141 and #142, “Days of Future Past.”
