Bring On The Bad Guys: Venom, Alien, & Batman The Merciless

Egads! Another molotov cocktail that's served as a kids drink. Say it isn't so! Say we don't have to suffer the bad guys again! Yes, sad for all of those within hearing range... you will submit!  Your lethal injection of mean is back with this month’s rendition of “Bring on the Bad Guys,” and once again we show that we don’t discriminate because of race, sex, color, or creed. If you’re rotten, you qualify. And there are many ways to qualify. It might be that you enjoy kicking cats. It might be that you eat people. Or...maybe it’s because you’re one of Satan’s soldiers. In any event, we flip through the PREVIEWS catalog each month to see who needs to be called out as a deviant, and then we explain why these people … or things … or whatever they are … shouldn’t be helped if you see them bleeding in the middle of the street.

Let us begin.

Dark Nights Metal: Batman The Merciless Statue

A cross between Conan and Frank Frazetta's Death Dealer, the Dark Nights Metal: Batman The Merciless Statue (NOV180596) stands tall and terrifying. Most likely, he challenges our depiction of physique, as he would side with DC Comics in asserting that he is instead a cross between Batman and Ares. Don't want to be at the business end of that big sword? Then nod your head and agree with him, not us. This 8.46" tall polyresin statue which features the new villain's blue armor and God Killer sword is individually numbered and limited to 5,000 pieces. Look for him in the November issue of DC PREVIEWS!

TMNT: Shredder In Hell #1

Oroku Saki's death should be like any other death in comics, right? He dies. He's dead. Next villain! No need to cry over Shredder. It's comics. No one stays dead in comics for long anyway. You wait a few years, and POP! Hey, look at that: Shredder's back, and he's mad as hell and he's not going to take it anymore, and he's going to get back at so-and-so and...you know the drill. But sometimes you get a villain like Oroku Saki that's so mean and such a stain on humanity that waiting for him to come back isn't enough! Even though he's dead, you want to see him burn in Hell, right? Well, you've got your wish with TMNT: Shredder In Hell #1 (NOV180656) from writer/artist Mateus Santolouco! Look for it from IDW Publishing in the November PREVIEWS!

Web Of Venom #1

Sometimes lightning does strike the same spot twice. It's not often, but it does happen. When it does, imagine the size of the crater in the ground. Electricity smashing into an open wound? The result is not going to look pretty. In fact, it will look downright grisly. Like a mad dog feasting on its recent kill. Oh, look! A cover showing a mad dog feasting on a recent kill. Yeah. Anyone notice the dog kind of resembles Venom? It's not a conincidence. You're looking at the virgin cover artwork for Web of Venom #1 (NOV180914), and the artist for the book is none other than Kyle Hotz, the same illustrator of the blockbuster series of the summer. Look for it in the November MARVEL PREVIEWS!

Aliens Titans: Alien Queen Vinyl Figure

People love nostalgia. Games like Trivial Pursuit ring a bell? There's something inherent in our nature that makes us seize on facts, and then tie them to our daily lives so that we can see how we live in a much bigger picture. Maybe that picture is wide open space. Maybe space itself. So answer us this: do you know what movie first postured that "in space no one can hear you scream"? What about "Game over, man!" Ah! The person in the room with their hand up. Yes. Alien. Or, in the case of the latter quote, Aliens. And here's your door prize! The Aliens Titans: Alien Queen Vinyl Figure (AUG188416) is in homage to the classic 1986 science-fiction horror xenomorph! A  6 1/2" tall collectible that you'll find in the Import Toys/Statues/Models section of the November PREVIEWS!

A Clockwork Orange: Alex UDF Figure
If someone came to you looking like A Clockwork Orange: Alex UDF Figure (JUL188792), and exclaimed "the police beat me up, sir!" ... what would you think? Should such a fashion mogul have had it coming? Of course not. The police beat up criminals when they have it coming to them, like when they're resisting arrest or causing mayhem. Alex is just that kind of agitator. A true agent of chaos. Look at the smirk on his face. The lad will lie right to your face, smash you in the head with a bottle, and then tell you that you deserve it. The face of anarchy personified, and he's sculpted to look just like Malcolm McDowell in Stanley Kubrick's 1971 film. A top shelf collectible that you can find in the Import Toys/Statues/Models section of the November PREVIEWS!

Once again we've done our job for the month, showing you our list of unforgivable irredeemables! Go out and pick up a copy of the November PREVIEWS, and let us know your favorite villains, and who YOU want to pit against each other in a fight to the death. Hit us up on Facebook or Twitter, and let us know about your favorite bad guys.

See you next time, fellow degenerates!
