Bring On The Bad Guys: Species, Pennywise, & Oswald Cobblepot

Egads! Another molotov cocktail that's served as a kids drink. Say it isn't so! Say we don't have to suffer the bad guys again! Yes, sad for all of those within hearing range... you will submit!  Your lethal injection of mean is back with this month’s rendition of “Bring on the Bad Guys,” and once again we show that we don’t discriminate because of race, sex, color, or creed. If you’re rotten, you qualify. And there are many ways to qualify. It might be that you enjoy kicking cats. It might be that you eat people. Or...maybe it’s because you’re one of Satan’s soldiers. In any event, we flip through the PREVIEWS catalog each month to see who needs to be called out as a deviant, and then we explain why these people … or things … or whatever they are … shouldn’t be helped if you see them bleeding in the middle of the street.

Let us begin.

Vynl IT: Pennywise & Georgie Vinyl Figure 2-Pack

A long time ago, back in the 80s, a famous novelist wrote a book called IT, which scared the pants off of people. Fast forward past 1986 to 1990 when a famous British actor named Tim Curry played the lead role of Pennywise the clown in IT when King's novel is adapted to a TV mini-series. Pop culture history was scarred for life, and many people began to realize just how terrifying clowns could be as compared to zombies and slimy space monsters we typically see in modern horror films. As with most things that leave a mark on our psyche, they don't stay dormant for very long, which is why IT was brought back for a new generation of movie-goers, and in this case...toy collectors! Check out the new Vynl IT: Pennywise & Georgie Vinyl Figure 2-Pack (SEP178038) that features Pennywise holding his enticing red balloon, and Georgie, complete with his raincoat and SS Georgie boat! You'll find the pair from Funko in the Toys/Statues/Models section of the December PREVIEWS catalog!

DCTV Gotham: Oswald Cobblepot ARTFX+ Statue

The mark of a good actor or actress is one who can take a timeless character, put it through a washer and dryer cycle, and then wear that character like it's a freshly-pressed suit. The fit will be tailor cut. The effect will create electricity which can power your whole neighborhood. This isn't something you see every day. But when you do see it, you recognize it instantly, as it needs no interpretation. You know art when it's standing in front of you, as is the case when you look at the DCTV Gotham: Oswald Cobblepot ARTFX+ Statue (MAR173063) from Kotobukiya. This statue beautifully captures actor Robin Lord Taylor's soulful yet determined expression of everyone's favorite nefarious villain, Oswald Chesterfield "Penguin" Cobblepot. Complete with fancy black suit with shiny shoes, a spiffy yellow inner lining in his jacket, purple checkered vest, white shirt, and black crossover tie with red gem, you'll find him in the Import Toys/Statues/Models section of the December PREVIEWS catalog!

The Dark Knight: The Joker "Cop" MAF Ex Figure

One of the most memorable screen performances ever delivered for a superhero villain was Heather Ledger's Joker. Fact. The posthumous Academy Award he received for the role puts to bed any doubts or digression. But did you know the actor didn't carry the role in white face paint for the entire film? Yes, briefly he appeared sans-face paint as a killer cop that was responsible for "assassinating" Commissioner Gordon in the film, and The Dark Knight: The Joker "Cop" MAF Ex Figure (AUG178623) pays tribute to this incarnation of the Clown Prince of Crime with this 6" tall collectible that's fully posable for maximum mischief! He comes with a rifle, two extra arms, and three interchangeable heads: one with the Joker makeup on, and two without the makeup; one of the makeup-free heads is wearing the GCPD cap. Look for him in the Import Toys/Statues/Models section of the December PREVIEWS catalog!

Species: Sil 1/6 Scale Figure

There's an old adage shared by people who've had the misfortune of having their hearts broken over multiple relationships. "Love is blind" they'll tell you, especially because those heartbreaks may as well have been open heart surgeries without anesthetic. Breaking up is hard to do, and if you've had the misfortune of crossing paths with the Species: Sil 1/6 Scale Figure (SEP178076), you'll readily agree that we know what we're talking about because Sil in her human form is irresistible — but Sil in her alien form is deadly. She's so deadly, in fact, that she'll oblige you to know what open heart surgery fells like without anesthetic! Here's Sil as envisioned by the legendary H.R. Giger for the original Species movie. She features a soft translucent PVC Dermis on the torso, arms and legs, and strong attention to details including textured interior-skeleton! Don't be late for your first date! Be on time, and go pick her up in the Import Toys/Statues/Models section of the December PREVIEWS catalog!
