John, Anthony, And An Old Man Named Jack

Writer Anthony Burch stopped by the PREVIEWSworld booth at the Baltimore Comic Con to give us his perspective on the debut of Old Man Jack #1 (JUL171475) from BOOM! Studios. The first issue had just hit the street, and Anthony was more than eager to talk about this new limited series which features fast and furious pictures from artist Jorge Corona. He also didn't mind explaining how he was able to get such a lucrative gig from John Carpenter himself!

"John was at a book store signing the Big Trouble In Little China art book," Burch explains. "I wrote a video game called Borderlands 2 ... and I knew from Twitter that he liked it."

It was the hook Burch needed when he approached the filmmaker at a table, and from there Burch networked himself into what fans can now read when they pick up Old Man Jack from their local comic shop.

Jack is always fun when he's an outsider, Burch comments. So see what happens when the ultimate outsider gets put into the most difficult position anyone would care to avoid: the end of everything...and everyone!

Look for Old Man Jack #1 (JUL171475) at your local comic shop, and check out the PREVIEWSworld video above to hear Anthony Burch talk more about this thrill ride of a comic that doesn't pull over for rest stops, and doesn't pause at stop signs.
