Ash Vs. The Army of Darkness #0

You can't keep a good man down. And you can't keep a good demon locked in the basement. If you saw the Evil Dead 2 movie, you get the reference. The mother locked in cellar? Yeah, that's where the Deadites showed how tricky they could be to people who didn't expect the worse. Such is not the case for the guy with only one hand. See, for 25 years, Ash Williams has been waging a war across time against the Army of Darkness. For those of you not familiar with the terminology, the Army of Darkness is for Deadites who graduated to being a real pain-in-the-neck for the Chosen One. And that would be Ash. So writers Chad Bowers and Chris Sims and artist Mauro Vargas got together to show what happens when it's homecoming for the two warring parties. The whole thing plays out in a grand dance that Dynamite Entertainment likes to call Ash Vs. The Army of Darkness #0 (APR171529). It's a special 16-page prelude that only costs you 99 cents! You can find it in the Comics and Graphic Novels section of the April PREVIEWS catalog!

Hookjaw Archive HC

If you're a child of the 70s, then you remember a tag line being bounced around that went something like this: "Just when you thought it was safe to go back in the water." Cue the screaming people running out of the surf, scrambling for the safety of sand castles. Cue the mother running up and down the beach looking for her surfboarding son. Cue the surfboard washing up on the beach with a huge bite mark that says the woman's son is not coming home for dinner tonight. It was the Jaws phenomenon, and people couldn't get enough of the finned terror that made you think twice before you stepped into the bathtub. That same terror was transferred into a comic so controversial that it was banned in the UK. But now that book is back in the Hookjaw Archive HC by Peter Mills, and you get a piece of publishing history courtesy of our friends at Titan Comics! Look for it in the the Comics and Graphic Novels section of the April PREVIEWS catalog!

Who would have thought that a TV show based on a black-and-white comic book would go on to become one of the most successful TV shows in television history? You know the show we're talking about. How could you not? Especially since the new villain that was introduced brandishes a baseball bat that has a habit of damaging skulls as much as the roaming zombies!
