Briggs Land Returns For Next Chapter In Lone Wolves

Article Image c193
Welcome to Briggs Land: nearly a hundred square miles of rural wilderness, representing the largest anti-government secessionist movement in the United States. The battle continues in the second series: Briggs Land: Lone Wolves, featuring New York Times best-selling writer Brian Wood (The Massive, Rebels, DMZ, Channel Zero) and interior artist Mack Chater (Ashes, Six), and colorist Lee Loughridge (Fables, Hellblazer). Matthew Woodson and art legend Kim Jung Gi lend their respective artistic skills to the cover and variant cover.

The first issue Briggs Land: Lone Wolves finds Isaac Briggs seeking the solace of the hiking trails around Briggs Land as he comes to terms with his past military service in Afghanistan. When two random backpackers accidentally wander onto the Land, an innocent situation quickly turns dangerous and threatens to expose the Briggs family to the media.

Brian Wood is currently adapting Briggs Land for AMC TV, serving as writer and executive producer, with producing partners A24.

The first issue Briggs Land: Lone Wolves (of six) goes on sale June 14, 2017.

Praise for Briggs Land: The State of Grace:

“Given the current political state of the country, this series feels very relevant indeed."—IGN

"Briggs Land is a sordid, violent, roiling story."—Nerdist

“This series continues to be an uneasy look at some very timely topics, helmed by the incredibly talented Brian Wood, as well as artist Mack Chater and colorist Lee Roughridge. It's a tense family drama that paints the issues in shades of gray, forcing the audiences to consider some very difficult situations and conversations and issue #4 really digs down into the matters at hand, exploring just how far and how willing people are ready to go in furtherance of their ideals.”—Nerdophiles

"Overall, this is my comic of the week. I’m already partial to Wood’s meditations on the United States and how it’s a much more contested country than we usually like to imagine."—Comic Bastards

"Grace, the main character and new head of the family is a strong and interesting character. Her attitude towards her husband, questioning his views and policies is something that is fascinating to think."—Comic Plug

“Wood has an incredible crime drama on his hands that is potentially on par with The Sopranos and Sons of Anarchy. If anything about the premise appeals to you as a show, I'd go ahead and pick this book up to get in on the ground floor.”—Black Nerd Problems
