Staff Picks (January): X-O Manowar #1

2017 marks the 25th-anniversary of X-O Manowar, and Valiant commemorates this milestone with a relaunch of the series.  X-O Manowar #1 begins with Aric on an alien world, separated from his armor, and reluctantly pulled into a war waging on his new home world. Returning to his barbaric roots, Aric must fight hand to hand without his armor and rise through the ranks as a warrior.

With ambitious storytelling from Matt Kindt, fans of X-O will get to watch their hero’s path from lowly soldier to the ruler of this strange new world and beyond.   Every stage of the story has already been planned for the entire year with each three-issue arc of Aric’s journey drawn by a favorite Valiant artist simultaneously.  The first run will feature art by Tomas Giorello with more to come from Douglas Braithwaite, Clayton Crain, Mico Suayan, and more. 

This new series represents Valiant’s biggest launch to date and is a great jumping on point for new fans while offering epic new conflicts for long-time fans.  War is coming for X-O Manowar and it will set the tone for the Valiant Universe for years to come.
