Rebirth Means Reset For New Justice League Title

If you’ve been following the news updates online, you’ve seen how DC Comics has closed the door on The New 52 and pulled back the curtain to show off what they tout as the “DC Rebirth.” At this year’s WonderCon, creative teams for the Rebirth titles were announced, and fans were given more information about the future plans for the DC Universe, and its characters, many of whom are now becoming known to the public because of their onscreen appearances in the recent Batman Vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice movie.

In short, DC Rebirth is intended to restore the DC Universe to a point in time prior to Flashpoint. Elements of The New 52 will still be seen in upcoming titles, but things will be changing, such as Action Comics and Detective Comics returning to their previous numbering (#957 and #934, respectively). Also, most notably the schedule in which we’ll be getting our monthly books will change as well. Many titles will move to a twice-monthly release schedule, with all titles releasing at $2.99 each.

There’s more elbow room for stories to evolve faster, there are now more eyes on the characters as many of them become more familiar in films, and DC’s COO Geoff Johns has confirmed that the books will be "more character-driven, and it's also more about revealing secrets and mysteries within the DC Universe about Flashpoint and The New 52 that are part of a bigger tapestry."

In other words, continental plates will be shifting with the release of Justice League: Rebirth #1 (MAY160204). Things start off with a bang as in the first issue three new members have already been added to the team. And one of them is Superman. Yes. Questions already, eh? It’s only the beginning. Trouble is at the doorstep before it’s even time for lunch as a strange visitor from a dead world has arrived, and many of the heroes don’t even trust him. Batman and Wonder Woman, for example, have decided to stay alone with their thoughts before they even think about opening their mouths.
