Mark Millar's Ready To Be Reborn
Aug 02, 2016
What makes dreams so cool is that there are no rules, the possibilities for surrealism are endless, and they dreams never seem to be in short supply. They just keep coming, night after night. Kind of like Mark Millar’s comics. They just keep coming. There’s never any end to the writer’s imagination. His latest book, for example, tests the boundaries of what dreams may come with the release of Reborn #1 (AUG160565) from Image Comics.
The new book asks where do we go when we die. But the question that follows immediately is, well, do we go somewhere else if we are brought back? Is the place that we go somehow different from what we expect? Are there pearly gates? Or do we find ourselves with gun and cutlass looking over a city which seems to have been devastated by warfare? Is this what some would call purgatory? Or would we encounter something completely different? Something that no one else has ever written about because no one has been able to come back and tell it.
And if you heard this story of where we go when we die, would it terrify you to learn that not only good things await you, but bad things as well. Very bad things.
If you knew these things, would it change the way you live? And if you did, would it make any difference?
These questions and more can be pondered when you check out Mark Millar and Greg Capullo's Reborn #1 (AUG160565) in comic shops October 12!
