A Spell On Wheels Means Boys On The Side
Jul 25, 2016
The spell has just begun. Not the one that holds you motionless while endless news pours from the after effects of San Diego Comic Con. We’re talking about the one that’s being conjured over at Dark Horse Comics.
One of the Gems of the Month you’ll find from the publisher in the August PREVIEWS comic shop catalog is Spell on Wheels, written by Kate Leth (Adventure Time: Seeing Red, Patsy Walker, a.k.a. Hellcat!) with illustrations by Megan Levens (Buffy the Vampire Slayer Season 10, Madame Frankenstein). It’s a new 5-issue mini-series that details the lives of three young witches who need to learn a lesson or two about safety and security. In regards to security, well, let’s just say it’s not a good thing for a witches broom to fall into the wrong hands. In regards to safety: imagine the consequences that can arise when that broom falls into the hands of someone who may use it for selfish gain.
Now complicate that problem, times three.
That is where our story begins in Spell On Wheels #1 (AUG160021), in which three young witches are robbed of their magical items. It’s a dilemma that’s not exactly something you report to your local police department. It’s not a matter for the authorities. It’s a situation that requires…a road trip.
Boys are on the side for this new adventure that takes three young ladies on state highways to catch a thief before he does damage to — or with — their possessions.
Spell On Wheels #1 (AUG160021) is in comic shops October 19.
